11 June: Day 1

After along journey I was dog tired, still couldn't sleep well. After 3 hours of sleep got up at 6:30am, might be body clock was still with India.

After getting fresh, got down to hotel restaurant for breakfast. There I met Glyn, from IBM US . It took almost 45 toprepare a simple toast and egg. I was prepared for Nigerian culture of time but not so prepared.

After breakfast took and erand to ATM and Sahad Store (supposed to be oneof the best in town), not quite impressive. It appeard more of a store rather than a super store. Bought some fruits, coockies etc.

Later we returned to Restaurant forLunch. Glyn and I ordered rice and chicken curry. After an hour and half we got to eat and finished in 10min. For a very low quality food we paid 1800 Nira ( $ 13 or 600 INR). In the waiting period of 90 min we watched 3 African Soap (in English) on TV. We really struggled to follow the sequence of event. I really gave up after 1 and Glyn aftre 2.

FOREX on Demand

Our Lawrence came to hotel for getting us for money exchange. He drove around 20 mins and entered in a relatively narrow but busy street. We saw lots of people in group of 2's and 3' s under big umbrellas holding black polythelene bags. Lawrence stopped the car near one of those umbrella.

Lawrence went out and discussed something (we didn't care to understand) with the guy and returned with him in the car.  The Guy came with a black plastic back. We gave him USD ($) and gave us equivalent Nira from the black bag.

We understood all the Umbrella is mini Forex bank and those guys were mobile exchanger. Was very new experience

Next tomm.
